The first annual All Art Literary Show was held July 10-12, 2009. It was a community art show and sale encompassing all art forms: literary, performance and visual arts. In order to bring together such diverse art forms we have relied on many people, businesses as well as the Sooke Community Arts Council, the District of Sooke and the CRD. Without the many hours of volunteer help, the donations from local businesses, and the dedication of the Directors this show would not have been possible. Thank you ALL!
Planning is ongoing to make subsequent shows new and innovative, your input is welcomed.
There are plans in the way to make a Studio Tour for 2010 that will highlight individiual artists and authors with private studios as well as group studio locations where participants cand showcase their work in a public setting

Outline: Help plan the 2010 Art Show and Studio Tour. All artists, authors and photographers welcome! These meetings are an informal get together to plan events for the upcomming year, exchange ideas and talk about what is needed to keep the art scene vibrant for amateurs and professionals. Meet with others, find out about what our members are doing: cooking & photography classes, studio evenings, writing groups! Sign up for the "Foto Foray" to French Beach where you can exchange digital photo tips, or a cooking class to discover how to search out and cook mushrooms and other wild food.
With the building of a Hotel, Convention Center and other public places, Sooke is becomming a vibrant art city. What shape will this take, and how do you see yourself participating? There are numerous groups already in the comminity: the Arts Council, the Chamber of Commerce, the All Sooke Arts & Crafts, the Fall Fair, the Sooke Region Museum Exhibit and Display of Art, the of course, the wold renounded Sooke Fine Art Show.
As we look to the the second year of this art centered event, we welcome your input and look forward to seeing you!
The 2009 show was a non-juried show geared towards artists and authors who wanted to sell original art, books and/or prints, musicians and poets who wanting to share their creations and perform in public. No commission was taken, only an entry fee.
